Inspection methods and maintenance of cast iron flat plates

Cast iron flat plates are tools for industrial production.The correct use and maintenance of cast iron flat plates are important conditions for maintaining their accuracy and extending their service life,and are also a part of the worker's job responsibility system.By correctly using cast iron flat plates,users can fully utilize the existing cast iron flat plates,expand their usage range,reduce measurement errors,improve measurement accuracy,and successfully complete detection tasks.

Why do we always emphasize the need for maintenance and upkeep of cast iron flat plates?If we only use them without maintenance,no matter how sturdy they are,they will soon lose their accuracy and become waste.On the contrary,if cast iron flat plates are used and maintained with care in daily work,even if they are used for many years and wear occurs,they can still maintain good accuracy after maintenance.

The quality of cast iron and the quality of heat treatment have a significant impact on the performance of cast iron flat plates.In order to ensure quality,the series of cast iron flat plates produced by our factory all use HT200-300 grade cast iron and adopt the lost foam casting process.After drawing design,model production,casting,sand cleaning,annealing,rough machining,secondary tempering treatment,CNC precision machining,scraping,and inspection,more than 10 processes have been completed,with a hardness of HB170-240,The load-bearing capacity can reach hundreds of tons,with stable accuracy and good performance.

Cast iron flat plates with sand inclusions have a layer of metal nodules or flakes on the surface of the casting,and a layer of molding sand is sandwiched between the metal nodules and the casting.Pores are smooth pores of varying sizes located inside,on,or near the surface of cast iron flat castings,with shapes ranging from round,long,and irregular,individual,and exfoliating.Reduce the pouring temperature of the metal appropriately.

Hot cracking has penetrating or non penetrating cracks(note if they are curved)on cast iron flat castings,and the metal surface at the crack site oxidizes.Improve the slag blocking ability of the pouring system.On the surface of cast iron flat castings,sand sticking is completely or partially covered with a layer of metal(or metal oxide)mixed with sand(or coating)or a layer of burnt sand structure,resulting in rough and rough surface of the castings.

Strictly control the sand molding function and shape manipulation,and pay attention to cleaning the mold cavity before molding.Avoid sudden changes in wall thickness.Improve the fire resistance of molding sand and core sand.

The cast iron flat workface adopts scraping and grinding technology,and can process V-shaped,T-shaped,U-shaped grooves,dovetail grooves,round holes,long holes,etc.on the workface.The wall thickness of cast iron flat castings should be as uniform as possible to reduce the viscosity of slag,increase the temperature of molten iron,and reduce the amount of metal suction during melting.

Cold cracking has penetrating or non penetrating cracks(mainly straight)on cast iron flat castings,and the metal surface at the crack site oxidizes.Castings cannot be quenched.Do not open the mold too early.
